Virginia DOH Recommending Pfizer & Moderna COVID-19 Vaccines Over J&J

The Virginia Department of Health announces it is adopting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention preferential recommendation of Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines over the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for people aged 18 years and older. The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization made the recommendation on Thursday as data showed there are more incidents of blood clotting in those who received the J&J vaccine than previously estimated. At least 9 people have died in the U.S. due to the clotting.
