Virginia Tops 1M COVID-19 Cases

The Virginia Department of Health reports the commonwealth now has more than 1 million recorded COVID-19 cases since data was first tracked last year. More than 40,000 hospitalizations have occurred and close to 15,000 Virginians have died from COVID-19 related complications. Officials say the 7-day testing positivity rate rose from 8.1% to 8.7% over the last 96 hours. The first Virginia case of the Omicron variant was reported last week.
