Municipalities can now apply for grants offered by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation to address the effects of recurrent flooding, sea level rise and extreme weather. $40 million is allocated to the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund which comes from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative that Virginia joined in January 2021.
