Virginia COVID-19 vaccine coordinater Dr. Danny Avula says he is leaving that post to assume his former duties as director of the Richmond City and Henrico County health districts. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch Avula will be succedded by Christy Gray,DOH’s Director of the Division of Immunization. Avula became Virginia’s vaccine czar last April and since then nearly 6 million residents have received at least one dose.
