The Virginia Department of Social Services announced it will once again furnish an emergency allotment for its Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program this month. Benefits will be automatically loaded onto recipients’ Electronic Benefits Transfer cards on Jan. 16. The additional funding comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and will go to over 367,000 Virginia residents.
