GA Begins 60-Day Session

The Virginia General Assembly began its 60-day session on Wednesday. Lawmakers will be dealing with issues ranging from COVID-19 to education to public safety. A new 2-year budget is also on the session agenda. The GA is now split politically with the House of Delegates now in Republican control. Delegates elected former minority leader Todd Gilbert to be speaker. Incoming Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears will preside over the Senate.
