Gloucester County lawmakers modify the fiscal year 2022 budget to remove the 1% sales tax increase approved by voters for new school construction which was applied to pay down past school construction debt. According to the Gazette-Journal the Board of Supervisors took that action after reviewing an opinion from Attorney General Mark Herring stating the reallocation should not take place. Supervisors transferred $3.25 million from the debt service find to compensate for the lost revenue.
