Preliminary work is underway for constructing a pair of towers to upgrade Mathews County’s broadband capabilities and cellular coverage, The Gazette-Journal reports crews from FCI Towers recently performed site surveys at Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad on Cricket Hill Road and Mathews Volunteer Fire Department Station 2 on East River Road. The surveys will determine the exact tower locations. The county inked the tower deal last September.
