A grant from the Library of Virginia will allow Middlesex County to digitize Circuit Court records dating back more than 2 centuries. Circuit Court Clerk Rachel Hartenback tells the Southside Sentinel the process copies the fragile paper documents into electronic storage and she adds they have an obligation to make sure that they are available for future generations. So far 8 volumes are approved for digitizing including 4 deed books.
