Virginia attorney general Jason Miyares issues his first legal opinion since taking office. He said state colleges and universities cannot require the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition for enrollment or in-person attendance. The opinion also stated although the General Assembly could enact such a law it only requires public post-secondary institutions to assist health agencies in the administration of the vaccine, but doesn’t give them the power to impose mandates.
