The old Northumberland County Jail in Heathsville now has a historial marker to proclaim its significance to the village. According to the Rappahannock Record it was designated as a contributing structure to the recognition of Heathsville as a historic village by the National Register of Historic Places. Members of the Northumberland County Historical Society gathered with members of Historic Heathsville Inc. to celebrate the marker’s installation.
