Richmond County is the defendent in a lawsuit filed by two residents over the Strata Solar Project special exception permit approval. According to News on the Neck the plaintiffs claim the board abandoned its responsibility by issuing the permit saying they focused instead of a speculative tax benefit. The same plaintiffs sued the county 2 years ago over the project which is located adjacent to their property.
