The Virginia Senate passes a bill requiring the state registrar of vital records to share a list of deaths with the Department of Elections each week. The information is currently shared on a monthly basis. Election administrators tell News 8 the increased reporting frequency will help them catch issues sooner. The Senate bill passed with a bipartisan vote and now goes to the House of Delegates.
