The Heathsville man charged in the disappearance of Ahrea’l Smith made his first court appearance last Friday. Prosecutors say Smith was at the 50-year-old’s house the night she disappeared. Smith was last seen while working at the Claraville Little Sue Store and the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office says they found a body on the suspect’s property nearly a week later. An autopsy is being conducted.
The suspect is held without bond.
