The Virginia Department of Health makes operational changes because of COVID-19-related staffing shortages. Those include closing the call center at the Office of Vital Records so personnel there can be redeployed to address the shortages. Officials say anyone needing to get in contact with that office should use the website at vdh.va.gov/vital-records. The changes are in effect through Friday. The Department of Health’s emergency and other operations are not affected.
