The State Senate Privileges and Elections Committee approved a proposed constitutional amendment to restore the voting rights of those with felony convictions once they complete their sentences. A similar bill was passed in last year’s GA session but by law it has to pass a second time in order to amend the constitution. The House version of the bill would put the amendment approval in the hands of voters.
