Westmoreland County vehicle owners may be paying more in property tax this year but not due to a rate hike – it’s because used vehicles have appreciated in value due to COVID-19. According to Westmoreland News the demand for used vehicles is greater and that’s driving values up by more than 50%. Last year values were up by just over 10%. Lawmakers are working on plans to offset the value increases.
