The monthly “Walk on the Wild Side” hikes at Belle Isle State Park starts Feb. 10. During each two-hour walk leaders choose a different trail and lead participants on a walk of discovery, discussing different aspects of the natural history of the park. The first walk focuses on winter wildlife and plants, Meet at the Camp Store at 9:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required at virginiastateparks.gov/events.
