Volunteers with the Virginia Master Naturalists- Middle Peninsula Chapter recently installed nearly a dozen bluebird nest boxes at Holly Point Nature Park. According to the Southside Sentinel bluebird populations dropped as much as 90% decades ago due to habitat loss so citizens everywhere have been putting up boxes to help their numbers grow. Master Naturalists members will monitor the nest boxes through the spring and summer.
