Several Essex County Public Schools students were not in class on Thursday as their parents kept them home because the division eliminated its COVID-19 mitigation protocols. Superintendent Dr. Harry Thomas III told NBC12 he is making certain parent’s concerns are being brought to the attention of board members and their main focus will continue to be providing a guaranteed and viable curriculum for students.
