GA Considering Bill To Reduce Smoker’s Insurance Premiums

Smokers in Virginia could see their health insurance premiums go down if a bill passed in the General Assembly becomes law. The measure does away with a provision allowing insurers to use tobacco use as a factor in setting prices. That surcharge can range up to 50% from non-smoker premiums. The measure now goes to the Senate and if passed would take effect next year.
