The Gloucester Main Street Association and Main Street Preservation Trust receives awards from “Virginia Main Street”, an organization helping localities successfully revitalize the economic vitality of downtown commercial districts. According to the Gazette-Journal the organization gave its “Best Business Support Program Merit Award” to the “Downtown Dollars” and “Passport to Gloucester Village” programs both held last year. Virginia Main Street was formed in 1985.
