House Of Delegates Passes Group Violence Intervention Bill

The House of Delegates passes a bill creating a grant fund to support Group Violence Intervention programs modeled on the successful, evidence-based federal program called “Operation Ceasefire”. Cities outside Virginia that implemented the program saw reductions in gun homicide from 25 to over 60 percent. Governor Glenn Youngkin says this bill gives law enforcement the tools to work with community leaders to help those most affected by violence.
