Virginia To Get $530 Million From Opioid Settlement

Attorney General Jason Miyares announced Virginia is expected to receive around $530 million from a opioid lawsuit settlement between the states and drug makers. According to Miyares’ office the settlement money will start being distributed in early April. The bulk of the money goes to Virginia’s Opioid Abatement Authority, which provides grants and loans supporting efforts to reduce, prevent, and treat opioid use disorder and fight the opioid epidemic.
