Governor Glenn Youngkin made a pitch to lower taxes during an appearance in Chesterfield County on Thursday. Youngkin says he wants to eliminate the grocery tax, suspend the gas tax hike, double the standard deduction and provide tax rebates. According to NBC 12 Youngkin’s proposals would save a typical family around $1,500 a year. Officials say the commonwealth’s revenue collections are running well above projections.
