The General Assembly passes a bill giving parents more say in what their kids learn in school. According to the Virginia Mercury the legislation requires schools to notify parents if students will be assigned sexually explicit material as part of the curriculum. Parents can then review the material and request alternate assignments. The bill doesn’t apply to library books. It now heads to Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s desk.
