Virginia’s sports betting take in Juanuary was nearly 15% higher than in December. Over $485 million was wagered with winners taking home more than $446 million. During the month of January 11 icensed operators were active and accepting mobile sports wagers. State law places a 15% tax on sports betting activity which translated to over $18 million in revenue for January. Since betting began last year the Commonwealh collected over $149 million.
