Mathews County officials are looking for a new Planning and Zoning Director now that Thomas Jenkins left for a position with Chesterfield County. According to the Gazette-Journal enior Planner James Knighton will serve as interim director until a new director is hired. Jenkins was in the planning and zoning department for nearly a decade and led the department through about half of that time. The Mathews Main St. Committee gave Jenkins an award last month.
