REC Officials Remind Public About CO Hazards

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative officials remind the public to test carbon monoxide detectors for proper operation. Carbon monoxide poisioning incidents often occur when power is out and portable generators are used. Never run a generator or any other gas-powered device inside your home or near a window. Coop officials also recommend getting furnances, water heaters and other fuel-burning appliances regularly serviced to prevent carbon-monoxide buildup.
