Virginia War Memorial Holding K-9 Veteran’s Ceremony Today

The Virginia War Memorial is hosting a K-9 Veterans Day Ceremony today to celebrate the work of man’s best friend in the armed forces. According to NBC12 the observance was created to honor and remember the work of militatry dogs from World War 2 and later. The United States K-9 Corps was created in March of 1942 and the first training center was established at Front Royal, Virginia in August of that year.
