Fatal collisions in Virginia hit a 14-year high in 2021 according to a report from the Demqrtment of Motor Vehicle’s Highway Safety Office 968 people died in crashes last year which is 14% more than in 2020. The biggest increases are in speed-related fatalities, those involving commercial motor ehicles and fatalities of motorcyclists, pedestrians, bicyclists, teen drivers, and mature drivers. So far this year there’s been 245 deaths on Virginia’s highways.
