A Rappahannock Community College student wins a $1,000 prize from a New York City-based book publisher. Mary Margaret Fanning of Westmoreland County won the 2021 Norton Writer’s Prize for a student attending a 2-year college or university. Fanning says it was her RCC ethics professor who nominated her for the award. She graduates next month with an Associate degree in Arts & Sciences then plans to attend a 4-year college.
