Virginia forms the “Safe and Sound Task Force” which will bring together government agencies, the Virginia League of Social Services Executives and others to end the practice of children sleeping in local departments of social services, hotels and emergency rooms. Between February and July of last year more than 160 children between 7 to 17 years old had at least one night in unsuitable sleeping arrangements because of a shortage of other accomodations.
