Governor Glenn Youngkin is calling on the General Assembly to pass legislation suspending Virginia’s gas tax for three months. Youngkin is proposing to slowly phase the tax back in through August and September. The tax is 26.2 cents per gallon for gasoline and 27 cents for diesel. Youngkin also wants the GA to cap the gas tax annual adjustmentat no more than 2% per year. The GA convened a special session on Monday.
