Colonial Beach lawmakers vote to drop the property tax rate by 2 cents. According to Westmoreland News the new rate is $0.78 per $100 of assessed value but most property owners will end up paying more in taxes since real estate values are nearly 13% higher after a reassessment was done. The town’s 2023 budget is larger than the current spending plan mainly due to cost increases.
