The Colonial Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad avoids having to shut down after the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution authorizing the signing of a Certificate of Compliance by the County Administrator. According to squad president Nick Szobota they faced a shutdown if the certificate wasn’t issued. Szobota says staffing for this month’s schedule exceeds the minimum requirement, thanks to the willingness of members to step up and serve the community.
