Dominion Asks For Rate Hike To Cover Fuel Costs

Dominion Energy ratepayers could be digging deeper into their pockets thanks to skyrocketing fuel prices. News on the Neck reports the utility filed a request with the State Corporation Commission to increase rates between 12% and 20%. Virginia’s regulated utilities are allowed by law to recover all money used to buy fuel to run power plants. The increase could be spread out over 3 years depending on the Commission’s ruling.
