The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors passed the fiscal year 2023 budget and while it comes with a 3-cent real estate property tax hike a new vehicle tax classification results in a rate reduction. According to the Gazette-Journal the rate is reduced from $2.95 to $2.30 because the General Assembly gave localities the option to lower taxes due to skyrocketing used car values. Officials say the lower rate impact will vary by vehicle.
