Kilmarnock Town Council Considers Raising Meeting Pay

The Kilmarnock Town Council will consider a resolution that would increase meeting compensation for the mayor and members of council. According to the Rappahannock Record council members receive $100 per meeting or special called meeting, and the mayor receives $200. As proposed, the compensation would double to $200 and $400, respectively but there would be no compensation for special called meetings. The council plans to take action at its June 20 meeting.
