Owners of 5-ton and heavier boats in Middlesex County will not see any change in the property tax rate. According to the Southside Sentinel the Board of Supervisors voted last month to keep the boat tax the same but there is a 6 cent property tax that’s taking effect with the $31.1 million fiscal year 2023 budget. Back in 2018 the Board lowered the 5-ton-and-up boat tax from 98 cents to 62 cents.
