The Richmond County Board of Supervisors is proposing to raise the Car Tax Credit, from 45% to 50%. According to News on the Neck the county took this action as a way to not increase taxes even though vehicle values have greatly increased. The personal property tax rate will not change. Lawmakers are working on the fiscal year 2023 budget and inflation plus salary raises mean spending will likely rise.
