The Virginia Department of Health in partnership with emergency data services company ESO announced the launch of the first-ever Virginia Stroke Registry. It allows stroke centers across Virginia to securely submit stroke data to one central location. The data will be used to identify evidence-based trends and patterns to help stroke patients transition with intent and proper treatment through the entire spectrum of care. Officials say stroke is the fifth leading cause of death.
