The Virginia Department of Corrections announces that new research finds inmates who complete job training with Virginia Correctional Enterprises have a very low recidivism rate and most become gainfully employed following their release.The research found less than 15% of the job-trained inmates reoffend which is well below the overall DOC rate of just over 22%. Virginia Correctional Enterprises is a self-supporting DOC division which receives no public funds for its operations.
