Virginia Gets $3.5M From TurboTax Settlement

Virginia is receiving $3.5 million from its share of a nationwide settlement with the maker of TurboTax over claims users could file returns for free. A 2019 investigation by ProPublica found Intuit was steering low-income customers away from free government-provided software and to their products. Attorney General Jason Miyares says he is proud of the role his office played to get relief for the Virginia customers the company deceived.
