Personal finance website WalleHub ranks Virginia as the best state for military retirees. Rankings were determined using 29 key metrics, including veterans per capita, number of VA health facilities and job opportunities for veterans. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for military retirees. Florida, Minnesota, Maryland and New Hampshire rounded out the top 5. Vermont was at the bottom of the list followed by Nevada and Washington, D.C.
