Colonial Beach holds its first-ever Juneteenth celebration from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 at the Town Hill. Juneteenth marks the anniversary of the 1865 emancipation of more than a qusrter-million slaves. It was made a national holiday last year. Event organizers tell News on the Neck they guarantee that those who attend will not be bored, nor will they go hungry. There will be entertainment along with visual artists and vendors.
