A Juneteenth festival is set for 11:00 a.m. this Saturday at Middlesex High School on General Puller Highway in Saluda. Organizers tell the Southside Sentinel there will be a children’s corner, classic cars and motorcycles, food trucks, merchandise vendors, music, a mini gospel concert, storyteller and much more. This event is free and open to the public. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and last year was made a federal holiday.
