Loving Day Celebrated On Sunday

Yesterday was Loving Day, marking the anniversary of the Loving vs. Virginia U.S. Supreme Court decision hat struck down bans against interracial marriage across the country. The case stemmed from a 1958 arrest of Richard and Mildred Loving. Richard was white and Mildred was black. The commonwealth deemed their cohabitation was unlawful and their marriage illegal. The American Civil Liberties Union argued the ban was unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment.
