Urbanna mayor Barbara Hartley and town councilor Merri Hanson have filed for re-election according to Melissa Welch, director of Elections and general registrar for Middlesex County. According to the Southside Sentinel Mayor Hartley is being challenged by current council member Bill Goldsmith. Incumbent Councilor Marjorie Austin had previously filed for re-election. The Urbanna Town Council was granted a charter change which increased terms from two to four years and provides for three council members running every two years.
