Northern Neck Electric Cooperative announceds it named its scholarship for students in memory of former lineworker Randy Thompson who was with the coop for over 3-1/2 decades. The award goes to support education at the Power Line Worker Program at Southside Virginia Community College. Thompson started with NNEC as a right-of-way laborer and moved up to a lineworker then became a line crew foreman before being promoted to line superintendent. He died in 2017 at the age of 57.
